Urban Futures announces a new capital increase to support Geniux's expansion

Urban Futures, the "startup studio" dedicated to urban innovation, has announced a new capital increase of €200,000 to support the expansion of Geniux, one of the most promising entrepreneurial initiatives incubated within the organization.

The round has already seen an initial subscription of €70,000 by some existing partners and will remain open until June 30, 2025, offering new investment opportunities to those who wish to contribute to the future of smart cities.

"This new capital injection is a strategic step to allow Geniux to grow steadily, replicating the success it has already achieved," said Raffaele Gareri, Partner and CEO of Urban Futures.

Geniux: a second pilot project on Lake Garda

After the encouraging results of the first experimental project, Geniux is preparing to launch a second pilot phase on Lake Garda, reinforcing its vision of more sustainable and intelligent urban and tourist mobility. The new pilot will test additional features of the Geniux infrastructure, which integrates IoT technology, artificial intelligence, and real-time analytics systems to improve the livability of public spaces.

“Lake Garda is an ideal setting to complete our solution, both due to the significant tourist flows and the growing awareness of sustainable innovation in the region,” explained Adriana Defina, CEO of Geniux. “With this second pilot, we aim to expand the number of hotels and experiences offered to tourists and test the entire promotion and sales process of the service.”

New corporate structure and operational headquarters in Rome

The capital increase also coincides with an important corporate evolution for Urban Futures, which has updated its legal form and officially moved its headquarters to Viale Giorgio Ribotta 11, Rome, within one of the most vibrant hubs of the innovation ecosystem.

“These changes reflect our desire to be even more flexible in our investment dynamics and closer to emerging startups,” added Gareri. “We are working to build an increasingly strong network among startups, public administrations, and investors.”

A clear vision for the future of cities

With this new financial and strategic momentum, Urban Futures reaffirms its commitment to building smart, inclusive, and sustainable cities. The team continues to work closely with public entities, universities, and private companies to develop high-impact solutions.
